Obituary

Concord

Franklin Delano Cox, age 86, of Concord and formerly of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday December, 14, 2019. He was born January 21, 1933 in Kershaw, SC to the late E.W. Cox and Lena Catoe Cox.

Franklin was also preceded in death by his son, Reginald John Cox; brothers, Doc Ernest, E. W. Cox, Jr., Olin Cox, Roy Cox and Isaac Cox; his sisters, Leila Jane Spence, Evelyn Deaton, Elsie Lazarchick and Louise Kringle.

A service celebrating his life will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200 E. W.T. Harris Blvd., where he was a longtime member. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor John Harrill. A private burial for family members, with full military honors, will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Charlotte.

Franklin is survived by his daughter, Susan (Ben) Moser; his grandson, Clint Moser; his sisters, Mary Bayne and Betty Cox; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to convey sincere appreciation to the staff at Brookdale Assisted Living, Concord Parkway.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to The Gideon’s International or Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Cabarrus Funeral Cremation & Cemetery of Concord is serving the Moser family.

I played with Frank, on the Kershaw High School 1951 State championship Football team. He was a good player and a young man of Great character. Even then he was a committed christian, and a friend to all. May God be with you during this sad time.
