Roger Allen Kanouff, of Concord, moved from the troubles of this earth to the warm, loving embrace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Roger leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Kay Hill Kanouff and two daughters, Robin (Carl) Stokes of Pelham, Georgia, and Malia (James) Davis of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Roger served in the United States Marine Corps and served in three tours of duty in Vietnam. Following 21 years of service to the Corps, Roger retired to civilian life and work. Roger was a member of West Concord Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and was active in the Senior Adult Ministry of the church.
Roger was born on May 16, 1946 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Ward Kenneth Kanouff and the late Mary Warden Kanouff.
Roger is the proud grandfather of Christina Stokes, Cynthia Stokes, Isabella Stokes of Pelham, Georgia, and Abby Davis, Charli Davis, Nikki Davis, and Keely Davis of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Survivors include Sarah (Raymond) Dowds of Blairsville, Pa; Dennis (Jean) Kanouff of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Michelle Kanouff; a brother, Tom Kanouff; and a great-granddaughter, Mariah Nesbitt.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at West Concord Baptist Church, 225 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., Concord and officiated by Rev. Mike Farley and Rev. Dennis Stone. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 P.M. Burial, with full military honors, will immediately follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.
Military Honors provided by National Marine Honor Guard, NC Patriot Honor Guard and Cabarrus County Honor Guard.
